Phan Rang Making salt the old fashioned way, by evaporating salt water.
The old fashioned way is to build a shallow flat area with small walls.  Then the area is flooded with ocean water.  Then the water is allowed to evaporate.  When only the sea salt remains, then it is shoveled up for delivery.

The palace (left) of Sergeant Levone Weeks, a true practitioner of the Ayn Rand Theory of Selfishness.  As Sgt Weeks took care of himself, we all gained.  He build his palace and we started to get real buildings (center).  We were even building a shower house.
